The Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) is a £1 billion, ten-year commitment between the government and the UK automotive industry. The company formed in 2013 to bring innovators and producers of low carbon propulsion systems together.
With no central connected system, APC needed a way of keeping the supply chain flowing by helping participants find partners and work collaboratively with other companies, suppliers and manufacturers. Cloud2 was recommended as a specialist in digital workplaces to help connect all the bodies together in the supply chain system. They teamed with Valuechain, experts in supply chain collaboration, to create an integrated portal for APC and the Automotive Sector.
An integrated Supply Chain solution
The portal will enable partners and stakeholders share and manage data from various sources to deliver enhanced insights with a collaborative user experience. The solution will also provide visibility of the automotive electrified supply chain, allowing organisations to work together, find new suppliers and understand opportunities available—all using Office 365, with the core capability delivered using SharePoint Online.
The solution includes several elements from existing Cloud2 solutions. Hadron intranet enables document management and publication while Hadron Connect brings advanced organisational directory. Also integrated is extranet functionality for supply chain partners.
