Shiran Herath, IT Manager, McGrathNicol "With Desktop Deployment Planning Services, we’ll have System Center Configuration Manager in place sooner, which will help us have Office 2007 in place sooner—with all the benefits that implies." Cloud2 are part of the Microsoft Services Ready programme and fully qualified to provide SDPS.
We also bring a additional expertise to our planning services, adding our analysis of why SharePoint projects sometimes fail and our methodology for avoiding this. Cloud2 has an approach that focuses on early phase projects that concentrate on the things SharePoint is especially good at and which deliver the most common needs of an organisation initally, adding specific and custom capabilties once this framework is established.
An SDPS engagement focuses on three main MSSP sections:
Qualify and Develop, Solution, Proof, mapping these to Solution Development, Strategy Briefing and Architecture Design, and Proof of Concept and Production Pilot respectively. Not all SDPS engagements include all of these sections. For example, only the 10-and 15-day engagements provide a Proof-of-Concept. A summary of the deliverables are provided in the table below.

Business Value Planning Services
Business Value Planning Services (BVPS) helps your organization's business decision makers develop a plan to maximize the business value of the Microsoft Office system through structured, multi-day engagements.
Our BVPS consultant works with you to document, analyze, and design a plan that can help you unlock the potential of your existing investment, drive change, and improve your business processes. The number of engagement days is 3, 5, 10, or 15—as determined by your Software Assurance coverage.
BVPS Engagements Defined Microsoft Business Value Planning Services (BVPS) is a software assurance benefit for customers. It is a pre-defined paid service offering delivered by partners to help customers identify ways to find further value from their investment in the Microsoft Information Worker (IW) technologies.
This service offers customers a 3, 5, 10 or 15 day engagement based on their individual software assurance benefit level. Customers work with a pre-qualified Microsoft partner (Cloud2) to document, analyse, optimise, justify, sequence, and propose a plan to improve a customer’s business process by leveraging IW technologies.
· 3-Day Engagement: The 3-day BVPS engagement is designed to provide a customer with a better understanding of the current state of a given business process and potential ways to improve that business process using IW technologies. During a 3-day BVPS engagement, a single customer IW business process is targeted and Current State process documentation and analysis, Future State process documentation and analysis, Future State Key Performance Indicators (KPI) Improvement Analysis, and Adoption “Roadblock” and Mitigation Analysis are assessed and developed.
· 5-Day Engagement: The 5-day BVPS engagement incorporates all aspects of the 3-Day BVPS engagement, but includes two additional key components:
- a quantitative business case to justify moving from the current state to the future state,
- a high-level implementation plan to move the customer forward.
· 10-Day Engagement: The 10-day BVPS engagement provides both partners and customers with additional opportunity to dive deeper into a business process improvement analysis and investigate two interdependent business processes, effectively broadening the scope of a 5-day BVPS engagement. During a 10-day BVPS engagement, two (2) customer IW business processes are targeted. The two business processes should be interrelated and require a detailed analysis of one in order to analyse and propose improvements to the other (e.g., to effectively analyse a company’s new employee on-boarding process, the customer also requests an analysis of their recruiting process).
· 15-Day Engagement: Similar to the 10-day BVPS engagement, a 15-day BVPS engagement allows a partner and customer to broaden the scope of a BVPS engagement to address three interdependent business processes. During a 15-day BVPS engagement, three (3) customer IW business processes are targeted. The three business processes should be interrelated and require a detailed analysis of one in order to analyse and propose improvements to the others (e.g., to effectively analyse a company’s new employee on-boarding process, the customer also requests an analysis of their recruiting process and their internal headcount allocation process).
